Creative fusion
For designer Steven Brown, furniture making is in the blood. Hailing from a long lineage of French master craftsmen, Brown spent summers immersed in his grandfather’s atelier, watching furniture creations come to life. Those early impressions fueled a lifelong passion for the craft.
Brown brings an aesthetic rooted in life experience in a career as a filmmaker, entrepreneur, and beverage brand owner. This understanding of the technical and creative, and the economics of production, allows him to apply a multidisciplinary approach to the work, creating designs that are highly original and unique, but also functional and streamlined.
A resident of southern California, he draws influence from an environment steeped in surf culture, world travel, wilderness treks, and a love for nature. Unity and flow are the hallmark of his designs, with wood being the core material used in each creation. He experiments with shapes and patterns, reinterpreting form and function, seeking a balance and symmetry that brings a fresh perspective to furniture design.
